Entrepreneurs - Start With WHY!

Dr. Frumi Rachel Barr, MBAEvery person and organization on earth knows what they do. Some even know how they do it...but very few know WHY they do what they do.

Money is not a WHY, it's a result. Quality products or service are not a WHY. They too are a result.

By WHY, we mean why does your company exist?

Why do YOU get out of bed every morning? What is YOUR Purpose for Existence?

And why should anyone care?

The leaders who inspire us all think, act and communicate in a way that is the complete opposite to everyone else. Those who inspire are not driven with what they do, they are driven with WHY they do it. As a result they build profitable and sustainable companies.

Take the time to consider your WHY. As an entrepreneur your passion for your business will keep you moving forward even when things feel tough.

Very good points, Frumi. There's an excellent read for those who haven't come across it called "Built To Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies" - It discusses the factors that make companies successful and sustainable--including that elusive "visionary" quality. The successful companies seem to possess a sense of purpose (a "why") beyond the what.
